Height Percentile Calculator
Estimate a child’s height percentile for ages 2–20 using CDC stature-for-age charts. Works as a boy height percentile calculator or girl height percentile calculator by selecting sex—not separate pages.
Plain-language interpretation
Height percentile compares standing height (stature) with CDC reference children of the same sex and age. Values near the middle of the distribution are common; very high or low percentiles warrant clinical context, not automatic conclusions from this tool.
Formula and data standard
CDC LMS stature-for-age (statage) parameters. Measurement X in centimeters; z from the LMS equations; percentile = Φ(z) × 100.
Applicable age range
2–20 years (CDC stature-for-age tables).
Worked example
Using the male stature row at Agemos 24.5, a height equal to that row’s M value yields z = 0 and the 50th percentile by definition of the LMS median.
Limitations
- Not for recumbent length in infants under 2 years.
- Single measurement only; does not assess growth velocity.
- Reference calculation only—not a diagnosis.
