Pediatric growth calculators based on CDC and WHO growth standards.

Growth Chart Calculator

Free CDC growth chart calculator for children aged 2–20 years. Estimate height and weight percentiles using published CDC 2000 LMS parameters—a child growth chart calculator for U.S. reference data.

Plain-language interpretation

A percentile describes how a measurement compares with the CDC reference population of the same sex and age. For example, the 60th height percentile means the child’s height is higher than about 60% of children in that reference group. Percentiles are not “grades,” and a single point does not define health.

Formula and data standard

Height and weight percentiles use the CDC LMS method on the 2000 CDC stature-for-age and weight-for-age tables (ages 2–20). z-scores are converted to percentiles with the standard normal distribution. Age is matched to a published Agemos row (no L/M/S interpolation).

Applicable age range

2 years through 20 years (24–240 months on CDC tables). Infant (0–2) and WHO charts are intentionally not included.

Worked example

A boy of about 100.5 months with height 130 cm maps to the CDC male stature row at Agemos 100.5. Using that row’s L, M, and S values yields a z-score near 0 and a height percentile near the 50th—illustrating a measurement close to the reference median.

Limitations

  • Reference tool only; not diagnostic.
  • Uses published CDC half-month bins; does not interpolate coefficients.
  • Does not plot multi-visit growth velocity trajectories.
  • Not for ages under 2 years or preterm-specific growth standards.

FAQ

What ages does this growth chart calculator cover?
This tool uses CDC 2000 stature-for-age and weight-for-age charts for children and teens from 2 through 20 years. It does not use WHO standards or infant charts for ages 0–2.
Is a CDC growth chart calculator the same as a medical diagnosis?
No. Percentiles and z-scores are reference calculations only. They do not diagnose growth disorders or recommend treatment.
Do you store my child’s measurements?
No. Calculations run in your browser. This site does not require an account and does not save child health information on a server.
