Child Growth Lab

Pediatric growth calculators based on CDC and WHO growth standards.

Effective date: 2026-08-04

Terms of Use

These terms describe how Child Growth Lab may be used, the rights that apply to original and third-party material, and the limits of this free educational service.

Scope and effective date

These terms apply to the Child Growth Lab website, calculators, guides, explanatory documentation, internal links, and source links. The site is operated by an individual developer, and Child Growth Lab is its public publisher name. The current service is free, with no account, subscription, purchase, or refund process.

Continued use means accepting the terms published here as of the effective date. If you do not agree, stop using the site. This page is general site-use information, not legal advice. Consumer rights and other rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited remain unaffected.

Intended and permitted use

Permitted use includes personal education; reference use by parents and caregivers; non-diagnostic reference use by healthcare professionals; study, research, and classroom discussion; reasonable links to public pages; and small, appropriately attributed quotations of original text in context. Fair use, statutory exceptions, and other rights that applicable law preserves are not restricted by these terms.

Access does not grant permission to copy the site's code, design, full page text, or third-party materials. Professionals remain responsible for their own judgment, records, and workflows. Calculator output is not a formal medical record.

Prohibited misuse

  • Do not interfere with, bypass, or damage security or availability; spread malicious code; attempt unauthorized access; or use malicious scraping, excessive automated requests, or other unreasonable load.
  • Do not present results as a diagnosis, medical record, prescription, government or institutional result, regulatory approval, or an official CDC, WHO, AAP, PES, or RCPCH tool.
  • Do not remove or alter source, copyright, licence, or disclaimer notices, or falsely imply endorsement by CDC, WHO, an advertiser, or another institution.
  • Do not use the site for fraud, deception, or unlawful activity, or copy its original pages, design, or implementation wholesale into another product.
  • Do not extract, package, sell, sublicense, or redistribute restricted WHO material from the site.

These restrictions do not prohibit ordinary search-engine indexing, reasonable page links, reasonable quotations, or uses that applicable law expressly permits.

Medical and emergency limits

Child Growth Lab provides educational information, reference comparisons, and arithmetic calculations. It is not a hospital, clinic, telehealth service, or healthcare professional, and using it does not create a clinician–patient relationship. The site does not diagnose, treat, or prevent disease or decide tests, referrals, medicines, treatment, feeding, or calorie targets. It is not for emergency decisions or care.

You are responsible for entering correct dates and units, using an appropriate measurement method, reading each tool's scope and limitations, and consulting an appropriate healthcare professional when needed. The Medical Disclaimer explains these boundaries in more detail.

Original content and third-party rights

Child Growth Lab's original writing, page arrangement, visual design, code and implementation, tests, and documentation may be protected as original work. This does not create exclusive rights over facts, mathematical formulas, public medical concepts, official standards, third-party data, papers, guidelines, or materials from CDC, WHO, AAP, PES, RCPCH, or other institutions.

Explaining or using a third-party source does not transfer its ownership to Child Growth Lab. Visiting the site does not give a user a right to copy, redistribute, or commercially use third-party material. Original copyright, licence, attribution, and use conditions continue to apply. These terms do not limit fair use, statutory exceptions, or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

WHO licensed materials

Some WHO material is used in this website/software calculator within the scope approved under Permission Request 202609680. The approval applies only to the materials, uses, media, and other conditions identified in the approved request. WHO retains rights in its material, and the licence is non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable. Access to this site does not transfer that licence or a right to extract, repackage, sell, sublicense, or independently distribute restricted material.

WHO's name is used only to identify the source accurately. Child Growth Lab is independent and is not endorsed, approved, certified, or operated by WHO. The WHO logo is not used and may not be used without written authorization. Before any new medium, commercial use, advertising context, product integration, or other use beyond the approved scope is implemented, the operator must confirm whether Permission Request 202609680 covers it and obtain additional permission when it does not.

Availability, corrections, and service changes

The site may update, correct, limit, suspend, or discontinue a feature. Continuous availability, uninterrupted access, and permanent retention of every tool are not promised. Pages may change when sources, guidance, data, or formula versions change; confirmed defects may lead to regression tests and an updated page date.

Cached pages, search summaries, and third-party copies may lag behind the current version on the official domain. Report a problem through Contact and read the Editorial Review page for the correction process.

Warranty and responsibility limits

The site is provided as currently available. Child Growth Lab works toward accuracy, transparency, and reproducibility, but does not guarantee that every result is error-free, suitable for every individual or a particular medical purpose, continuously available, or supported by third-party sources that remain available and unchanged.

Important medical decisions should not rely only on site output; check relevant original sources and seek an appropriate professional. To the extent permitted by applicable law, responsibility for loss caused by misuse, incorrect inputs, or substituting the site for professional advice is limited only to the extent the law permits. Rights and responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited remain unaffected.

Privacy, changes to terms, and contact

Read the Privacy Policy for calculator-input, infrastructure, email, and possible future advertising data practices; the Medical Disclaimer for medical limits; the About page for publisher identity and advertising independence; and Editorial Review for content, algorithm, and correction procedures.

Material changes update the effective date. Revised terms apply prospectively to continued use from their published effective date; they do not pretend to rewrite completed past conduct. If you disagree with an update, stop using the site.

Questions may be sent to support@childgrowthlab.com or through the contact instructions. Do not send child medical records or identifying health information by email.
